Social impact assessment

Tunisia Libya Tunisia

ESAS has a range of experience is undertaking social impact assessments. We are experienced in identifying social issues, conducting social baseline studies, preparing impact assessment reports and contributing to environmental and social management systems. Our work is increasingly focused on assessing impacts to land and livelihoods and this includes projects where IFC Performance Standard 7: Indigenous Peoples is triggered.

During social impact assessments ESAS typically completes a gender analysis. The purpose of the analysis is to identify areas where project impacts have the potential to impact women in positive and negative ways. The outcome of the analysis is used to prepare a Gender Action Strategy which contains a range of measures to promote gender-inclusive economic growth and maintain the active participation of women. The strategy typically cross-references a variety of project documents including the Local Employment Plan, Stakeholder Engagement Plan, Resettlement Action Plan, and Community Development Plan.
